OUR MISSION
Learning together,
promoting safe surgical techniques.
The Tohoku Society for Endoscopic Spine Surgery (TESS) is a society for sharing techniques and experience in endoscopic spine surgery. We discuss challenges in surgical techniques and work to advance spine care through education, research, and hands-on seminars.
Across the geographically dispersed healthcare facilities of Tohoku, we aim to reduce differences in learning opportunities arising from where members live or work. We combine in-person training with online learning to create opportunities for collaboration among members.
Our Activities
Hands-on Seminars
Model-based practical training teaches endoscope handling and surgical techniques. Please check each seminar's announcement for the training categories and eligibility for certificates of attendance.
Web Seminars and Knowledge Sharing
We learn from speakers with different specialties and share experience in clinical care and surgical techniques.
Skills Development and Collaboration Between Institutions
Our core activities include supporting physicians working toward technical certification, coordinating surgical observation visits and training at other institutions in Japan, and providing relevant information.
